PCL Presents: Asher White
Asher White is one of the most singular and restlessly inventive artists working in American indie music today. Born in 2000 and raised near Chicago, she began self-recording and releasing albums on Bandcamp at the age of 14, building a vast and wildly eclectic body of work entirely on her own terms — sixteen albums deep before most artists have finished their debut.
A multi-instrumentalist, producer, visual artist and writer, White’s music defies easy categorisation. Skittering noise sits alongside swooping strings; banjo collides with feedback; dissonant flutes dissolve into bossa nova. It is pop music as conceived by someone who has listened to everything and is afraid of nothing — confessional, complex, and utterly alive.
Having studied sculpture at the Rhode Island School of Design, White brings a visual artist’s instinct for texture and form to her music, creating work that rewards deep listening and resists easy summary. She has toured with Deerhoof, opened for Black Country, New Road, and in 2026 was named one of Rolling Stone’s Future 25.
Asher White is not an artist for passive listening. She demands your full attention — and is absolutely worth it.
