DESCRIPTION:Melding lush electronics with gently moody acoustic songwriting\, Australia’s Sophie Payten — who records under the name Gordi — began writing her debut EP while still living in her college dorm room in Sydney. A native of the small rural town of Canowindra\, Gordi eventually relocated to Sydney for school while also immersing herself in writing and recording. With an electro-organic pop sound recalling Bon Iver and Beth Orton \, her music career quickly began to show some promise. On the basis of singles like the sweeping “Can We Work It Out” and a unique reframing Courtney Barnett of ‘s “Avant Gardener\,” she signed a deal with American label Jagjaguwar in late 2015\, while chipping away at her medical studies. Her debut EP\, Clever Disguise\, was released in the US in the spring of 2016. Gordi delivered her debut full-length\, Reservoir\, in the summer of 2017. A true collaborator\, the full length was produced with Tim Anderson\, Ali Chant and Alex Somers and finished off in Eau Claire\, Wisconsin.

Their debut album is set to release Spring 2026 via Born Loser Records. The Sewing Club is grungy pop that’s sure to get stuck in your head.

DESCRIPTION:Emerging from Merced\, California\, 60juno leads the central valley’s post-punk scene with feelings of heavy nostalgia through deep\, dreamy melodies.  \nInspired by the 2016 surge of Southern California’s DIY indie-rock community in conjunction with the synchronous Soundcloud era of underground rap\, 60juno came to life in the isolated bedroom of a lonely teen stuck in 2020 quarantine. Upon realizing that creating his own music wasn’t as far out of reach as he once thought\, the independent musician became the driving force behind the bass\, drums\, guitar and vocals that can be heard on each of his tracks. \n60juno takes the usual wistful\, dreamy aspect of DIY indie-rock a step further into post-punk territory with heightened energy and rough\, low vocals thrown on top. This merge has resulted in a blend of his own creation that sets him apart as he continues to establish a notable sound worth remembering.

DESCRIPTION:Makthaverskan´s latest album\, För Allting\, fits between blissful pop and angst-ridden punk\, but it’s never content to land on any one set identity for long. As Pitchfork writes of the band\, the Sweden-based outfit of five former schoolmates makes “music for the margins\,” and here in the spaces of För Allting is a restless\, unwavering need to explore. För Allting signals a new beginning: it’s the first of the band’s recordings to have a producer (Hannes Ferm of HOLY). Propelling further into an identity that one will never fully grasp\, each second of För Allting comes with something once unheard of from the group. There’s drum machines\, synthesizers\, and a blissful\, shimmering self-awareness that what they’re ultimately creating is dream-pop for realists. Makthaverskan is unafraid to face the contradictions between beauty and rage; instead\, they turn them into something completely new. You’re free to explore this uncharted Makthaverskan territory\, to attempt your own understanding of a band that feels larger than themselves\, but the mystery\, the unwillingness to ever fully reveal every trick is what makes the band so inherently special. Opening the record with an untitled track that includes a simmering synth drone\, Makthaverskan quickly engulfs you in its magic with the sweeping\, dreaminess and Johnny Marr-like guitar work featured on “This Time.” Vocalist Maja Milner is a constant guiding force\, a narrator that’s a mix of soft and tenacious\, her gentle self-assurance most apparent on “Tomorrow.” Here\, brisk instrumentals act as a sharp\, but still twinkling backdrop for Milner’s lofty vocals to reach the fullest of heights. Milner later acts as a haunting vocal specter\, as a regret-tinged mantra of “you used to be mine” is nearly engulfed in the thickness of dark drums and bass.
