SUMMARY:ORACLE SISTERS
DESCRIPTION:Oracle Sisters will be joining us as part of their US/EU Tour this April! \n  \nBorn from a friendship that was scattered between New York and Edinburgh and that stretches back to a childhood\, almost forgotten\, in the flatlands of Belgium. Lewis Lazar and Christopher Willatt discovered an instinctive songwriting connection as teenagers and stayed in touch after leaving home and pursuing their respective paths as underground cabaret singers and promoters\, studying mathematics and philosophy\, painting on commission\, and writing as solo artists. When the opportunity was presented to them to move to Paris to help run a friend’s newly opened Cabaret a stone’s throw away from Le Moulin Rouge in 2017\, they jumped on it and spent their first year writing songs fervently in and amidst a blooming scene of artists. \nIn this atmosphere of songwriting and social serendipity they coined the band name ‘Oracle Sisters’ and soon after met their first sister: Julia Johansen\, a Finnish songwriter who had been traveling the world with her suitcase and guitar and had just arrived in Paris with a small part in a film. Although they first welcomed her to the band due to her talent in singing harmony\, her secret talent on the drums soon became apparent\, and thus began the creative adventure and roll of dice that is the ‘Oracle Sisters’.

The albums are a must-listen for anyone interested in exploring the experimental side of electronic music\, and could easily go down as one of the best and most exciting projects within the past couple of years. \nHe performs music from these albums live at Nice N Sleazy on the 22nd of April along with a stacked line-up of Glasgow based talent including live performances from Han & General Ludd and DJ sets from ELANDA and Lewis Lowe. \nTickets are available via resident advisor\, with limited early birds available.

As a power trio\, Unsane relied upon a hammering power-press rhythm section\, a searing Telecaster howl\, and distorted vocals that resembled nothing if not the sound a man trapped in the New York Subway system.

DESCRIPTION:To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Cloud Nothings’ seminal album Attack on Memory\, the band has announced a very special tour of the UK and Europe. \nAttack on Memory by Cloud Nothings is an influential album that triggered a whole new era for the band and garnered widespread praise from music tastemakers. Named “Best New Music” by Pitchfork and attracting a score of 8.6\, the album also contained two “Best New Tracks” (“No Future/No Past”\, “Stay Useless”) and subsequently made #19 on Pitchfork’s Album of the Year list for 2012. Spin Magazine gave the album a stellar 9/10 rating\, while Rolling Stone named Cloud Nothings as a “Band to Watch” and included Attack on Memory at #21 on their Top 50 Albums of 2012 list (it also placed #6 on Stereogum’s Top 50 Albums of 2012 list). Attack on Memory reached #2 on the CMJ Radio Charts and peaked at #3 on US Top Heatseekers\, #21 on US Independent Albums\, #25 on US Alternative Albums\, #37 on US Rock Albums chart\, and #121 on US Billboard 200 charts.
